Call out for Remote Sensing 2021

Remote Sensing is a new platform designed to share challenges encountered in fieldwork during a time of restrictions on sites, collections, and communities. In the wake of dramatically altered global environments, we are interested in material and digital approaches to fieldwork and how this area of research continues to function as a rich source of enquiry for creative practitioners. The platform will be launched through a one-day online symposium, digital publication, and virtual field trip on Friday 30 April, with keynote presentations from Dr Helen Wickstead (Kingston University) and Dr George Jaramillo (Heriot Watt University).

We are looking for expressions of interest from UAL’s community to contribute to these activities. To register your interest, please email Dr Rachel Emily Taylor and Dr Leah Fusco by Monday 8 February with a PDF containing the following:

– Name, college, position, and work email address
– A statement on how your practice engages with the theme (150 words max)
– Up to 3 images of relevant work

Everyone submitting a PDF will be invited to participate in the symposium or publication.
We aim to respond to submissions within two weeks of the deadline.
