Call out for Remote Sensing 2022

Remote Sensing is a platform to share knowledge, approaches, and challenges in fieldwork, with a focus on places, communities, and collections. The project supports the CCW research theme of ‘climate change’ as it is examining new approaches to work and collaboration that have been influenced by the pandemic.

In April 2020, we hosted an online symposium. Speakers were members of the UAL academic community (staff and students) and invited guests from national and international institutions. Documentation of the event can be viewed in the 2021 Remote Sensing publication.

We are now open to receiving submissions for the Remote Sensing 2022 publication.

Building on last year’s closing questions, the 2022 publication theme is:

how pandemic restrictions produced modes of knowledge-making and how can we move beyond the restrictions into a new understanding of research and field work?

We will accept submissions in two formats:

Written essay – Word Document or PDF, max of 1000 words with the support of max 3 images.

Visual essay – open format (film, slideshow, animation, etc.) with a max of 12 images.

Please submit your essay by Tuesday 31st of May 2022.

We accept Word Document, PDF, jpg, mp4 formats, or links.

Please send your submission to Valeria Rocca (v.rocca@arts.ac.uk).

The authors of the selected submissions will be informed by July 2022.
